Update from Dean Richard Sewell
Dean’s Message
Summer holidays are over for another year and we would dearly love to be able to launch into busy pilgrimages with visitors from all over the world. Sadly, we are still not yet quite at that place. The region continues to be rather volatile and no one is exactly sure what the trajectory is. Israel and Palestine both have elections in the following weeks which is making the present time especially febrile. Neither election is likely to make a dramatic difference to the situation but it may give a clearer sense of the likely direction of travel. As ever, we live by faith in the midst of the pain of the present reality and the joy of the promises of the God of all hope and peace.
Where Are We Now?
It has been true for most of the College’s modern history that the context in which it operates is uncertain and careful judgements have to be made on safety issues regarding travel to Israel/Palestine as well as the specific places which can or cannot be visited on any particular day. This will remain the case for the foreseeable future. And so, we commend to our friends throughout the world, the idea of beginning to consider if they are able to sign up for one of our study pilgrimages in 2027 or 2028. You can register here.

In the Words of Our Pilgrims
“This was so much more than visiting the places I had read about. Scripture, worship and community came together in a way I will carry with me.”
Now, I can see and understand what I had heard all of my life. The experience was beyond comparison; it was humbling, and I received such a blessing.

We rode the gondola up and walked down. It was an excellent day and incredible views and a nice dip in the Dead Sea. I was the lone Canadian with many Aussies and a few Americans. Incredible memories!
