The H. Boone and Violet M. Porter Foundation has funded the Porter Fellowship on an annual basis for ten (10) years from 2016. This is a three-way partnership between St George’s College Jerusalem, the Berkeley Divinity School at Yale University, and the H. Boone and Violet M. Porter Foundation.

The recipient of the fellowship is known as the “Porter Scholar”.

The purpose of this fellowship is to advance the global leadership of BDS students by working at SGC, living in the interfaith context of Jerusalem and volunteering at an appropriate local agency.

Involvement in teaching, worship, research, administration, and logistics is expected. The roles and responsibilities of the Porter Scholar at SGC will vary year to year in accordance with the needs of SGC and the talents of the particular incumbent.

The inaugural Porter Scholar was Joshua Bruner, who commenced in June 2016. We are currently seeking applications for the next Fellowship cycle.

Further information on the Porter Fellowship, including the application process, is available online.
