St George’s College Jerusalem offers a unique opportunity for sabbatical programs.

Clergy, religious, academics and teachers will find the College and its facilities to be ideal for an extended period of study and reflection. Our location in Jerusalem and our proximity to key sites is a great advantage, whether creating your own program or participating in programs offered by the College.

We especially invite early career theologians teaching in Anglican seminaries and universities to plan to spend part of their sabbatical program as a guest at the College.

Extended Studies Program

Our extended studies program is especially suitable for clergy and religion teachers who want to combine personal reflection with formal learning opportunities.  This allows people to take a series of consecutive courses to create an extended study program, with a significant reduction in the tuition fees that would otherwise apply. Anyone taking two consecutive courses will receive a 10% discount on both, while someone taking three or more consecutive courses will receive a 25% discount on them all. The gaps between courses can be used at the discretion of the participant, with a special rate for those choosing to stay at the College for a limited B&B service.

Scholars-in-Residence

Scholars-in-Residence are engaged in research and writing projects that are relevant to the mission of the College and will benefit from our location in Jerusalem. During their time of residence they contribute to programs of the College. The extent and nature of these contributions vary from one person to another, and in each case is negotiated in advance with the Dean. Expressions of interest from scholars interested in serving in this way at the College should be directed to the Dean.
